EXPOLIVA DIALOGUES.
November 4th.

“Considerations on the search for competitive advantages in olive growing. The particular case of the province of Jaén.”

The manual Considerations on the search for competitive advantages in olive growing will be presented on November 4th. The specific case of the province of Jaén will be presented at 5:00 p.m. in the Guadalquivir auditorium of the Jaén Congress and Exhibition Center.

The book, in the preparation of which 18 entities, including public institutions and companies, have participated, aims to highlight the current situation of olive growing in Jaén in such a competitive environment as global olive growing, and, if applicable, what strategies could be applied in favour of its potential improvement or greater development, taking into account that these would be of two different natures. On the one hand, we speak of differentiation or singularisation of olive oils, as is the case of living olive groves, organic olive groves, bioregenerative olive groves, biodynamic olive groves, PGIs, DOPs, etc. and, on the other hand, there is the possibility of modernising the current olive groves, thus improving their competitiveness. Strategies could also emerge that would be a combination of both measures, thus influencing an improvement in the net income of the farmer via cost reduction and an increase in market price.

In the preparation of this manual, and in turn participating in its presentation which, as we say, will take place on November 4th, have participated institutions and companies such as: Diputación de Jaén, Universidad de Jaén, Caja Rural de Jaén, Agromillora, Regaber, Carmonagro, Olivares Vivos, John Deere, Burgos Salaberry, Vimar Equipos, Soliguer, Agroisa, GEA, FOSS, IMS, AEMODA, Oleícola Jaén, or Garzón Green Energy, with the entire value chain within the olive oil production process being present, and highlighting in their chapter, what would be, from their position and perspective, the challenges that Jaén faces in the proposed sense.

Once the event is over, which will be broadcast openly to the 66 countries that produce olive oil on the planet from Jaén, a copy will be given to the attendees, and will be sent to all virtual attendees by PDF.
